As a recently discharged patient of Dr. Theodore Wolfson, I am most grateful. He is knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of the shoulder, is a patient, caring and professional surgeon, and just a great person! I’m an older, active woman referred to Dr. Wolfson for an injury which resulted in a displaced fracture of the humerus. At the initial visit and after reviewing test results, Dr. Wolfson felt surgery was not necessary. He was very willing to take the time to answer my numerous questions which allowed me to better understand the next steps, the healing process and be more active in my recovery. He described how the injury would heal with patience and later, PT – but he kept an eye on the fracture. Frequent x-rays confirmed that decision – healing was occurring without surgery. Two months of arm/shoulder immobility in a splint and two more months of PT, and my range of motion and strength are back to pre-injury.

Dr. Atanda seems to be a magician. I had spinal surgery on Nov 20th, 2023. He told me the pain the 1st week was going to be tough after surgery and he was right. He also said the pain would subside each day after… he was right. I’m feeling great. X-rays look great. Dr. Atanda also said I need to strengthen the core as I’m losing weight. He cares about his patients... it’s obvious… it helps during the whole process. Thank you Dr. Atanda!!! Special shout to Trish up front… she is very nice and was very helpful with CT family leave. Getting ready for golf this spring!

Dr. Wolfson is THE best MD I have had in over 30 years! He is not only brilliant, but the easiest doctor to talk to and an amazing human being . I have had the trifecta of his specialties (shoulder, hip & knees), and he has been so great with finding solutions to all. He did a great job on the surgery of my fractured hip this past December. First off Doc, I wanted to tell you that I'm feeling great. The back pain from my L-4, L-5 continues to be on a scale from 1-10, a 3! I now find myself realizing that after I get from point A to point B I don't think so much about my back pain. Like you advised me, I'm not pain free, I never expected to be, but I'm a heck of a lot better now than I have been in years. The pain I have now I can live with. Thanks for taking care of me.

Secondly Doc, I wanted to tell you that your staff at both offices are exceptional. Shannon is so pleasant to speak to, she was very accommodating every time I called. I'm sorry that I cannot refer your other staff members by name, they were all so professional, patient and kind. That kind of treatment you don't always find in the medical profession nowadays.

I can't believe we accomplished something so miraculous in the last year. I am not sure if you remember, but when mom fell ill with her back issue, I drove straight from Washington, DC, to advocate for her care, and continued to do so on a weekly basis until she came out of surgery. It was important to do this because I saw how mom's case slipped through the healthcare system. But when we came to your office, we felt respected and cared for. It made me feel like the work I do matters for our country.

I depart for my onward assignment with the US Government next Thursday. I'll be away for three years. I could not have taken on this assignment had mom not had surgery under your care. The work you did impact more than just one woman's life. It saved a whole family.
