Bast is a board certified physiatrist with sub-specialty training in sports medicine and interventional spine care. He received his board certification in Sports Medicine by passing the sub-specialty exam in 2011. He is also board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Brian Bast graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and brings with him a “hands-on” approach to medicine fostered in osteopathic training. He completed his residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and went on to fellowship training at the Beth Israel Medical Center. At Beth Israel, Dr. Bast had the good fortune to work with nationally ranked athletes and learned from prominent leaders in spine care. He has provided medical coverage for various sporting events and is particularly interested in repetitive sports injuries such as patello-femoral syndrome and swimmer’s shoulder.
